The story behind the product

We source this vase from women producers of Sierra Mixé, one of the most traditional areas of Oaxaca state. We collaborate with sisters, who got their ceramic and design skills from their mother and grandmother.

Using the coiling technique, these potters build their pieces without a wheel and then polish them delicately. They use local clay and sand that they mix together, which gives this natural soft pink color. The dark features are created by the fire and are unique.
