Tea Pot Gruñido, Black

This teapot was designed and handmade by a family of potters in Pueblo Nuevo, Mexico.

Originally from Yojuela, this beautiful piece is also made in Pueblo Nuevo in Oaxaca, Mexico. Coutume sourced this beautiful piece from a family, working from home.

The artisans build the pottery without a wheel, using the coiling technique. To create this vintage look, dark luster, or speckled texture (salpicado), the artisans polish the clay and then spray a natural tannin, extracted from tree bark. This « gruñido » technique needs two firings to complete.

This piece exists in black.
